As for workplace, it's only fun when you have fun coworkers that talk to you.
The time of day starts from 10AM to 6PM during the summer but when fall comes it changes to 2PM to 8 PM and you'd still have to work 10AM to 6PM on Saturdays. When you do training they expect you to photograph and be speedy so your time should be exactly 10-15 mins. It can get pretty crazy sometimes when you have a picky student and parents or lots of students packed all in one day with ultimates and deluxs. It's not hard to take pictures and the script you're suppose to do is simple. It's only seasonal during the summer to thanksgiving when students are out of school and starting their senior year so IT'S BEST TO HAVE A BACKUP JOB IF THE SEASON ENDS OR IF YOU DECIDE THIS JOB IS NOT FOR YOU. I'm giving it a 2 star because of management. I work for the Prestige Portraits in Elk Grove as a photographer, ONLY because I have a degree in photography. Highly disappointed and don’t look forward in going back.Įxactly what the title says. It shows huge lack of management and if you make a comment on feedback Orr give suggestions it’s looked as talking back. But the downside is the quality of your pictures goes down since you have to photograph students 10 min max!!! The managers instead of checking in with their hired photographers y’all behind your back to the lead. I was the first to be laid off and didn’t have two weeks to be laid off!! The management uses their words carefully so it seems like all will be fine but when you connect the dots they are throwing you under the bus. But in the end I sacrificed my school for this job. I wasn’t financially prepared for one day! Given two weeks I would of been fine. Last season I was given one day to change my school schedule or I’d be laid off. Don't pay for retouches with this company, its a waste of money.I can not describe how highly disappointed I am with this company I’ve worked two seasons and I’m the first to be let go but if they needed me on either site I was there.
Bottom line, in the end, we did retakes & they did all of them over for no charge. Update: My BBB review got answered by corporate & I received the retouched copy which was HORRIBLE! She went from looking like she had a beard(left side) to looking ghostly with fat cheeks (right 2 pics). I wouldn't refer their company to anyone. Since it should have never been mailed to my house with lighting errors, its only right to let us see ALL the photos so we can choose a yearbook photo. Months later they approved of the retouch without cost but now tell me they can't reprint the corrected copy prior to it going to the high school for print. They actually tried to get me to pay a retouching fee 1st. I was told by another photographer that use to work for them that the photographer downloads every photo onto the computer & should have corrected his lighting issue prior to sending out the proofs but he didn't. I told them I don't want that entered into her final high school yearbook. My daughter's pictures had a shadow on the bottom half of her face in every picture.
